Summary and Information

The old grey magnesium-alloy casing was updated with a surprisingly fresh design. Some of them, including the E6400 are even available in fancy colors. Hence, now even corporate users get a chance to get a laptop in 'Regatta Blue', 'Regal Red', or 'Quartz Pink'.

The E6400 is the most popular 14" model with a choice of processors from Intel's Centrino 2 lineup, professional grade Nvidia graphics, and several new security features. Dell claims that you should be able to squeeze up to 19 hours of battery life out of this one, but to achieve this you have to configure it with the 9-cell battery, a pricey Solid State Drive, and an additional battery slice.

You can get this model and others from the Latitude E series with either Vista or ironically, pay extra for a Windows XP downgrade. The optional graphics card, Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M, roughly equals the 9300M consumer GPU, but should perform somewhat better thanks to a higher clock.
